Jan Czochralski: The Forefather of Electronics

The most frequently cited Polish scientist, chemist and metallologist. The most important achievements of the scientist include the development of the principles of metal crystallization and the discovery of the method of obtaining single crystals. Today, about 95 percent of the world's production of silicon cylinders is carried out using the Czochralski method. Silicon wafers are the basis of integrated circuits, on which all modern electronics used in telecommunications, automotive, aviation and photovoltaics are based.
